Legacy of Kain™ Soul Reaver 1&2 Remastered

Aspyr brought 2 cult-followed vampire games, originally released in 1999 and 2001, to modern platforms. Our marketing campaign dialed in to target the existing fans base, retro gamers, and fans of a great story.

I created the videos and screenshots for this campaign which entailed playing the original game and researching the dark fantasy-adventure niche, mocking up storyboards, drafting rough cuts, meeting with outsourcers to create intro/outro animations, and versioning the final assets for multiple platforms and regions.

Storyboards are one tool I use to kick off a long form video project—the simpler, the better. I like this method because it’s easy to turn into a shot list.

My trailers focused on three main elements: the story, remastered graphics, and nostalgia.

Social & Relationships

Leveraging the relationships Aspyr built from the release of Tomb Raider I-III, our campaign took a “bombs, not bullets” approach, releasing larger information drop beats with partners in lieu of minor social content marketing.

I created 3 trailers for a 90 day campaign. Each video was offered to a first-party platform or major news outlet to broaden our reach.

Additionally, I created 9 video shorts, and many GIFs and screenshots for placement on blogs and social to promote our game with low-effort media.
